Differences in Indonesian School Curriculum

There are kinds of Indonesian school curriculum that often make people confuse. In this article, we are going to discuss some school curriculum in Indonesia.
1. National School
This school is based on the national standard for the curriculum made by the government. In this school, most of the subjects use Bahasa Indonesia for studying.
2. National School Plus
Schools that use this curriculum often emphasize more in foreign languages (English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, etc.) but still use Indonesian curriculum. In some national plus schools, they use
English for studying in their books, but still use Bahasa Indonesia inside classrooms. In Jakarta and Serpong area, there are many schools that use this curriculum, like Pahoa and BPK Penabur School.
3. International School
International schools adopt other countries’ curriculums, like America or Singapore, and use them as a guideline for their school. Books from their countries are also used by international schools and they use English as their first language for studying. For the tests, students from these schools will face and do the same tests from the curriculums’ original countries. Most parents put their children in international school because they want their children have great skills in English, or even want them to study abroad.
Sekolah Pelita Harapan in Lippo Karawaci is one of the schools among others.
